English home learning set 7th December, due back 12th December:
The ‘Water Conservation Trust’ are currently running a competition (which we have discussed in class) for you to enter a poem about ‘water or the environment’ and submit this to me by Tuesday 12th in order to be entered into the competition. There are prizes and published poetry in a book available! Please present this as creatively as you can and remember that you learned about the water cycle last year in Science and this, added with your current knowledge of coasts in Geography should be brilliant to use in this competition!
Maths home learning:
MyMaths - mixed times tables practise and the opportunity to play 'Strike it out' with someone at home!
Also - if anyone has any butter/margarine tubs at home (approximately 500g tubs), please could you bring them in for cooking for Friday 15th December to take your creations home? Thank you in advance.
Home learning for this week (16.11.17)
English: Comprehension about Victorian children and to find a poem that I enjoy and memorise it to share with the class next week.
Maths: MyMaths - Area and Perimeter
Of course, also read, practise your times tables and spellings.
Due back Tuesday 7th November
We have started look at and writing about the book 'Flotsam' by David Weisner this week. For your home learning, please create a newspaper report about the discovery of the amazing camera that was washed ashore. How will you make it sound amazing? What could be on the film inside the camera? Don't forget to include a headline and try to use columns to look like a real newspaper article.
On your logon for the MyMaths website and please remember to practise your times tables and multiplication/division calculations as that is what we are learning at the moment.
English - Please research about our new topic for after half term which will be 'Coasts'. Present your research as creatively as you like - this could be as a booklet, non-fiction writing, brochure, model etc.
Maths - Use your MyMaths login details to work through as much as you can with the MyMaths tasks that have been set for you. Remember that some of them are to plug any gaps you may have and some are to stretch you further. There are lots on there to keep you busy but I am expecting you to spend at least half an hour on this please.
